start

this is going to be my "journal" for my service learning thingy.. pwede daw kahit ano eh tsaka "however way you feel you can express yourself best" so kahit magtagalog ako ok lang siguro.. hehehe

let's see.. i've been volunteering at the Wallingford Boys and Girls Club since tuesday last last week. so naka 2 volunteer days na ako. i typically get there at around 3 and stay until mga 6. that way i get the 2-4 hours i need a week. shempre 3 hrs para asa gitna.

last week i started out. they got me to go down to the gym and play ksi gym time nila. i got there and the mentally disabled children were there. only them. i don't know kng talgang pinapauna sila dun or what ksi dapat total integration ksi un ung policy nila. so i dunno what was happening there. i played catch with two girls. i think one of them is named tatum but i'm not positive on that. tapos merong mga guys dn.. tim ung isa and misha ata ung isa.. gulo nila. haha it surprised me that bastos din pala sila. ksi i dunno may binabanggit si tim ng kung ano ano.. so nabigla lang ako pero d ko naman alam kng anong gagawin ko so i just ignored it. so i played catch.. i dunno i feel kinda sorry for them but i know that you're not supposed to be... it was weird and hard to play with them in a way ksi parang alam mo na d nmn nila kaya ang lahat ng kaya mo pero d mo pwede tong sabihin ksi baka sabihin nila bias ka naman or something. ewan.. so finally.. ung mga ibang kids bumaba na.. i stopped playing with the girls.. hehe then wla lang.. nakahanap ako ng volleyball.. so nakahanap din ako ng mga ibang girls na kayang maglaro ng vball.. grabe.... miss ko sobra na magvolleyball!! :) so happy ako.. hehe eto nanaman ung prob.. i wanted to play better as in mag spike and stuff pero d ko magawa ksi 1. one on one lang kmi. and 2. wla lang mangyayari kng gnun.. haha pero fun pa rin.. and i discovered na d pa rin ako marunong mag toss.. haha sya kaya nya ako ndi.

then they played a game. i dunno. everyone had to join, even the mentally disabled ones. and kaya rin naman nila. saya nila.. well most of them anyway. gnun naman lagi pag merong group game tps kids. d lahat sasali..

then.. snack time.. then.. parang meeting.. then homework time. i got to work with this kid named sam. i guess he was like 1st or 2nd grade. pretty bright but grabe.. wlang focus! haha simple lang nga ung hw nya pero kng saan saan napupunta ung attention nya.. like.. "look at the gecko" and other stuff.. haha ewan ko lang kng like nya ako o ndi ksi medyo kinukulit ko syang gawin ung hw nya.. hahaha.. ayun.. when he went home.. nakipiano ako sa isa pang bata.. d ko lam name nya though.. may promise.. he was playing fur elise pero feeling ko d sya tinuruan.. as in narinig lang nya somewhere tps tintry nya sa piano ksi kakaiba ung gamit nyang fingering.. haha i tried to teach him pero nahihirapan sya.. he liked chopsticks a lot though! :D hehehehe inuulit ulit nya d nya tinatapos.. haha nakakabaliw!

then.. i went home na..

then this week.. etong tuesday lang.. same thing.. i got there and it was gym time already.. wla lang upo lang me.. i played a little catch with tatum again pero sandali lang ksi ayaw na nya.. tapos ung kalaro ko ng vball last week nagbbasketball.. parang gsto ko nga sumali pero shy ako.. so nood lang sa kanila hanggang naglaro ulit sila ng game.. which i watched as well..

then snacks.. i knda helped.. ung mga nagpprepare ng snacks i think mga higher batch.. older.. sana ako din pero ndi eh.. i think isip ng supervisor d ko pa kaya or something kasi mas bata ako or whatnot.. pero ok lang i guess.. so i poured juice into teeny tiny cups.. as in super liit. hahaha then they had chicken noodle soup.. ung campbells style.. miss ko na sobra! i wanted some pero d pwede eh.. hahaha :P then they had their meeting.. this week i wasn't really in the mood for helping homework so i did bracelet making.. merong isang kid.. i think ian ung name.. galing.. very business minded guy.. or at least merong goal. ksi for each bracelet you make, you get 100 club bucks.. or bux.. whatever. parang money nila so at the end of some period of time merong auction and he says he's going to buy all the candy from there. so nakagawa sya ng 3 bracelets that day. he's really nice and he showed me how to make those things :) enjoy pla. hehehe

then.. after i made mine, i went into the teen center ksi merong couch.. so mga kids dun naglalaro ng super smash bros. sa n64. hahah brings me back to before sa bahay nila eeya aju when me, ahya, jenna and edgar would play.. i dunno dati marunong ako pero ngyn wala na.. parang d ko na nagegets.. hahah pero wla lang enjoy pa rin kahit na sobrang talo... nga pala.. ian nga has a practical mind.. he was saying how silly the others were for playing super smash.. ksi daw wlang club bux dun while he can play super smash anytime ksi meron naman sya sa bahay and also gain club bux while doing something that'll help tsunami victims. (coz the bracelets are to be sold to raise money for charity) so wala lang i was impressed. :)

so after that, i went to the learning center to see what else i could do. found alicia (the girl i was playing vball with) playing the piano. so i went over there and tried to teach her to play the blue moon song thingy. she knows the notes but she just doesn't have the timing right.. tired to teach her.. but in vain. then the gym opened, so we played a bit of ball and then i left.

so un.. two days of volunteer work. i'm excited for the next few weeks..
